With the war situation in Ukraine Narva, which is located right on the border with Russia, may seem an unsafe place to visit. In fact, there is no reason for that.
First and foremost, Narva is not only the easternmost point of Estonia but also of the entire European Union. Moreover, Estonia is a member of NATO since 2004 and it is a home to about 1700 NATO troops.
People in Narva live their normal lives and the city hosts several big events this year, such as Station Narva, Food fair Tastes of Narva, Narva City Run which attract numerous guests from other parts of Estonia and from abroad.
Narva is easily and comfortably accessible by train, bus or by car. Despite its border location, there are no restrictions to visit Narva and freely walk even along the famous Narva River Promenade or visit magnificent Kreenholm manufacture area and see Narva cascades.
There is not a single reason why you should avoid visiting Narva. A holiday or just a short trip will surely help maintain contacts among people and improve the economy situation.
